Recent studies have shown that fascia can be considered as an interoceptive pathway, and therefore suggest that it may be involved in the process of Body and Self-awareness. This therapeutic paradigm, based on a phenomenological perspective and existential philosophy, aims to develop the subjective experience of the body with a view to reunifying body and mind. It is applied in the field of mental health and more recently in physical therapy to manage somatic disorders and pain.

DBM Fasciatherapy (Danis Bois Method), a manual therapy, has long been conceived as an approach that emphasizes the role of fascia in achieving balance between body and mind. It uses manual touch to modify body perception and enrich bodily experience, with the aim of improving physical and mental health.
